Having designed brochures and promotional material for Forest Arts in New Milton for many years we were used to interesting and thought provoking artistic challenges. However the idea behind The Dreaming Paintbrush stood out as a truly imaginative and creative premise.

The brief revolved around a writing competition organised by Hampshire County Council and renowned artist Geoffrey Robinson. Geoffrey's superb artwork was to be the centre of a literature competition where, inspired by the works, local writers would write short stories reflecting the imagery and their own personal take on what the artist was communicating.

The initial design brief was to create an entry form and website containing competition entry information as well as the paintings themselves for reference. The competition was a success and the entries were all of a very high level. The next stage was to deliver the competitions main prize - a high quality book featuring the artists work alongside the winner's short stories.

Continuing the already established look of the competition, the well presented look of the book balanced the beautiful paintings and stories equally over double page spreads. Uncluttered, dynamic, and colourful, the book was embraced by those who took part as well as enthralling those relishing a good read and the promise of incredible art.
